Ana Vuin is a Research Fellow at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), affiliated with the Rural Policy Centre within the School of Rural Economy, Environment and Society. She holds an Honorary Fellow position at Charles Darwin University (2020–2023). Her research focuses on migration dynamics, rural development strategies, community resilience, and policy impacts on rural health and land use.
Dr. Vuin earned her PhD from Charles Darwin University in 2019 with a thesis on migration patterns in South Australia, Northern Sweden, and Croatia. Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to address challenges in rural policy, including land reform, community wealth building, and climate action.
Key research interests include:

- Land value dynamics and ownership
- Community-driven economic development
Her recent projects include the RESAS-funded initiatives 'Scotland’s Land Reform Futures' and 'Novel Insights on Scotland’s Rural and Island Economies.' These projects explore topics like land-based financial mechanisms, decision-making processes, and sustainable rural policy futures.
Dr. Vuin collaborates widely on international case studies and has authored over 20 research outputs since 2016, including policy briefs and commissioned reports. Her work emphasizes actionable insights for policymakers and communities.
