Ana Vivinetto, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor affiliated with Cornell University and the Burke Neurological Institute. She serves as Director of the Gliocentric Laboratory for Neural Repair and is part of the Hollis Lab. Her research focuses on neurobiological mechanisms underlying neural repair, particularly glial responses to injury and spinal cord injury recovery. Dr. Vivinetto’s work investigates pathways like RANKL and Zeb2-mediated processes to enhance functional recovery.
Her research interests span neurological repair, glial biology, and neuroregeneration, with a focus on translational applications for neurodegenerative and traumatic injuries. Key areas include Schwann cell transplantation, hypoxic adaptations, and molecular signaling in neural injury contexts.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to understanding how RANKL activation impairs spinal cord wound healing and the role of Zeb2 in glial EMT-like processes. She has also explored hypoxic preconditioning effects on Schwann cell survival post-injury.
