University College Dublinمعرفی
Ana Peric Momcilovic is Assistant Professor in Urban & Regional Planning at University College Dublin’s School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy and concurrently Senior Research Associate at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Architecture. A Fulbright and Swiss Government Excellence scholar, she spent nine years at ETH-Zürich’s Institute for Spatial and Landscape Development, publishing seven books and >50 articles on collaborative planning, brown-field regeneration and planning cultures.
Education
- Dip. Arch., University of Belgrade, 2007
- Ph.D. in Urban Planning, University of Belgrade, 2013 (dissertation award, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce)
Research focus
Her work dissects how stakeholders collaborate (or fail to) when tackling complex spatial challenges. Using comparative case studies across Switzerland, Serbia, Ireland, Greece and the USA, she has examined brown-field regeneration governance, the financialisation of planning legislation, participatory planning legacies in socialist Yugoslavia, and elite-driven densification coalitions in Zurich. Recent projects investigate social inclusion in healthy communities and the impact of urban density on children’s wellbeing.
Publication trajectory
Since 2021 her articles cluster around three intertwined domains: (i) financialised urban megaprojects and planning law reforms, (ii) cooperative/deliberative planning methods in Swiss and Serbian contexts, and (iii) comparative planning cultures and policy transfer in the Balkans.
