Ana Mouraz is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Aberta, Lisbon, Portugal, where she teaches in the Department of Education and Distance Teaching. She is an integrated researcher at the Laboratory of Distance Education and eLearning (LE@D) and collaborates with the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Porto. Her academic career is deeply rooted in teacher education and educational innovation.

Her recent research projects reveal a consistent trend toward innovation in teacher development and equity. She leads studies on peer observation for self-regulated learning (WAY), digital gender equity in African Lusophone countries (DIGENDER2PALOP), and intergenerational knowledge transfer among teachers (Fifty Years of Teaching). These projects span disciplines including educational psychology, policy analysis, digital pedagogy, and social justice.

Ana Mouraz has been a principal investigator on multiple FCT, ERASMUS+, and EU-funded projects. She has served on national and international evaluation panels, including for the National Inspection Board (IGEC), the Science Fund of Serbia, and the ERASMUS+ National Agency. Her work bridges research, policy, and practice, contributing to teacher training and educational reform across Portugal and beyond.
She is actively involved in research communities such as CIIE and COPIN (Communities of Practice in Research), where she contributes to mentoring young researchers and shaping educational discourse. Her leadership in projects like the Observatory of School Life and EDULOG highlights her commitment to data-driven educational improvement and public engagement.
