Ana Milena Torres Ahumada is a Lecturer in Law at Charles Sturt University's School of Business, based at the Bathurst campus. She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Cartegena, an LLB (Hons) from the University of Western Sydney (UWS), a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education from the University of Cartegena, a PgDL from UWS, an LLM (Hons) from UWS, and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from CSU. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Canberra. Ana was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2008 and has professional experience as a legal officer, researcher, and public prosecutor.
Teaching Philosophy: Ana employs Constructivist theory in her teaching, emphasizing self-directed learning. She teaches LAW515 Employment Law and LAW110 Business Law, using innovative methods that integrate context, reflection, and technology to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Research Focus: Her work examines:
- Legal responses to gender, race, and social disadvantage
- Innovations in legal education and assessment
- Indigenous business culture impacts
- Anti-discrimination law in HR policies
