Ana Maria Salicioni

Ana Maria Salicioni is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she conducts research on the molecular basis of sperm function and male fertility. She is also the Business Manager for Interdepartmental Graduate Programs (IDGP), supporting academic administration.

Her research focuses on testis-specific serine protein kinases (TSSKs) and their role in spermatogenesis, sperm capacitation, and male infertility. Using mouse models and biochemical approaches, she investigates signaling pathways critical for sperm function, with implications for both treating infertility and developing non-hormonal male contraceptives.

Her work involves phosphoproteomics, metabolic labeling, and kinase-phosphatase dynamics during capacitation.
