Ana-Maria Hriscu is a PhD researcher at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT), Tilburg Law School, Tilburg University. She serves as a Lecturer for the Joint BSc Data Science program and supervises Master's theses in Law and Technology, focusing on privacy and data protection law within digital platform ecosystems.
Her academic background includes a Master's Degree in Law from TILT (2021), a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Tilburg University (2019), and a Bachelor's Degree in Languages and Literature from the University of Kent (2014).
Her research centers on the legal frameworks governing personal data processing by large online platforms, with emphasis on consent mechanisms, data subject rights enforcement, and the intersection of data protection law with competition and consumer law. She investigates regulatory gaps in digital markets and practical challenges in cross-border data governance.
Her publications analyze evolving trends in EU data protection jurisprudence, particularly regarding Big Tech accountability, transparency in algorithmic processing, and the harmonization of data protection with competition enforcement.
