Dr Ana Laura Aiello is a Research Assistant in Law & Social Justice at the University of Leeds' School of Law, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences. She collaborates closely with Professor Luke Clements on the Cerebra Legal Entitlements Research Project, aimed at empowering families with disabled children to access statutory health, education, and social care entitlements. Her work bridges academic research with practical advocacy, employing socio-legal methods and co-producing research with disabled communities.

Research Focus: Her expertise spans disability rights, strategic litigation, and inclusive methodologies. She investigates mechanisms to dismantle barriers hindering disabled individuals' rights ownership, with a focus on institutional settings and systemic advocacy. She has partnered with organizations like Amnesty International and Cerebra to advance human rights enforcement.
Publications & Engagement: Co-author of books and peer-reviewed articles (Oxford/Cambridge University Press), consultant on disability rights, and contributor to accessible research practices (e.g., Easy Read materials). She also serves as a peer reviewer for the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law.
