Amy Schrank

Amy Schrank is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Fisheries and Aquaculture Extension Educator at Minnesota Sea Grant. She holds a PhD in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Wyoming (2002), an MS in Resource Ecology and Management: Aquatic Ecology from the University of Michigan (1997), and a BS in Biology and Spanish from the University of Michigan (1995).

Schrank specializes in aquatic ecology, focusing on fish movement patterns, aquatic-terrestrial linkages, and human impacts on aquatic systems. Her work spans Great Lakes ecosystems, trout streams, and coastal wetlands, emphasizing sustainable aquaculture development and invasive species management. She combines field research with outreach, particularly in K-12 education and public engagement.

Her recent projects include the Aquaculture Market Study ($250,000, 2020-2023) and the Great Lakes FreshFishFinder.org initiative. She leads the Minnesota Sea Grant Extension Program and contributes to the Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative.
