Amy Rutledge is a Special Instructor of Management Information Systems at Oakland University's School of Business Administration. She holds an MBA in Business Administration from Oakland University. Her teaching focuses on Intro to MIS, Information Security, Productivity Software, Project Management, and Databases. Research interests include Teaching with Technology, Project Management methodologies, and Technology Adoption in both business and personal contexts.
She has authored/co-authored numerous textbooks, including Exploring Microsoft Access series and Practical Computing. Her work with Pearson Education includes developing auto-graded assignments for myLabIT Grader. Notable awards include the 2020 Student-Athlete Faculty Recognition, 2019 Teaching Excellence Award, and 2017 Distinguished Service Award from the School of Business.
Prior to Oakland University, Amy worked as a Project Manager at Chrysler LLC, Business Analyst at Handleman Company, and consultant for Balanced Scorecard initiatives. She led the TEDxOaklandUniversity conferences in 2014-2015, bringing over 50 speakers to campus.
