Amy Rodger serves as a Research Fellow at the Usher Institute within the School of Population Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. Her work bridges health psychology and environmental behavior research, with active contributions to the Edinburgh Mental Health Network.
Her research focuses on behavioral mechanisms driving health decisions, particularly examining how habitual processes, reward structures, and external constraints shape daily water intake. Using innovative methodologies like the Situated Assessment Method, she investigates consciousness and immediate feedback in drinking behavior while expanding into climate action interventions through gaming-based approaches.
Rodger's recent publication analyzes habitual influences on water consumption in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being (2024). She currently leads the "Evaluating the Impact of Green Game Jam 2024 on Players Climate Actions" project (2024-2025), funded by Dire Lark Ltd, exploring how digital interventions promote environmentally sustainable behaviors. Her work integrates mental health perspectives with practical public health applications.
