Dr. Amy Nuttall is Associate Professor at Michigan State University's Department of Human Development and Family Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Notre Dame with a quantitative methods specialization. Her research examines family resilience processes under stress contexts including interparental conflict, childhood bereavement, and disability.
Research programs investigate:
- Intergenerational parenting transmission mechanisms
- Sibling dynamics in special needs families
- Physiological stress responses in caregiver-child dyads
Serves as Associate Editor for Journal of Family Psychology and statistical consultant for Child Development. Teaches advanced graduate courses in Structural Equation Modeling and Parent Education. Leads the Michigan Prenatal Stress Study examining prenatal stress timing effects.
