Dr. Kristin Valentino is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Veldman Family Psychology Clinic at the University of Notre Dame, holding the William J. Shaw Center for Children and Families Collegiate Chair. She is also a Faculty Fellow at the Eck Institute for Global Health and the Institute for Educational Initiatives. Her research focuses on how adversity, particularly child maltreatment, impacts development and resilience, emphasizing caregiver-child interactions and intervention design. She evaluates strategies to improve caregiving quality and mitigate developmental risks in high-risk families.
Education: Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Rochester and A.B. in Psychology from Georgetown University.
