Amy Juarez is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Union College’s Department of English. Her research focuses on Medieval Literature, with interests in material culture, visual arts, poetry, Health Humanities, and Digital Humanities. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in English Literature (and Art History for her B.A.) from UC Riverside.
Her recent work includes a forthcoming article on health and architectural theory in medieval texts, and a study of chromatic hierarchies in the poem Sir Orfeo. She has been awarded grants and fellowships such as the 2024 Podcasting the Humanities Institute and the Schallek Fellowship (2023-24).
Dr. Juarez is also the creator of the public-facing podcast Medieval Matters, which explores the relevance of medieval studies to contemporary issues. Her academic contributions span book reviews, digital projects, and interdisciplinary research bridging art, literature, and health.
