Amy Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Art at Otterbein University, researching the relationship between artists and society with emphasis on community impact. She teaches art history travel courses in Italy and Spain, and previously held faculty positions at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, University of Delaware, and Harford Community College.
Her educational background includes:

- BA from State University of New York, Geneseo
Dr. Johnson's research spans Modern and Contemporary Art, American Art, European Art, Art and Architecture, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Visual Culture, Historic Preservation, and Art and Social Change. Her recent projects investigate photography's role in historic preservation within modern urban development, particularly examining how visual documentation shapes city identity.
Professional affiliations include Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies program, Integrative Studies Program, College Art Association, and Association of Historians of American Art. She has extensive preservation experience through Center for Historic Architecture and Design (Newark, DE), Preservation Alliance of LaCrosse (WI), and Society for Preservation of New England Antiquities (Boston, MA).
