Amy Hirschfeld is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer at the Gordon Institute within Tufts University's School of Engineering. She holds a B.A. from Tufts University and an M.A. from Harvard University. With over 30 years of experience in writing, editing, and academic publishing, she has taught technical writing, public speaking, and business communication since 2001. Her research focuses on inclusive pedagogy, anti-racist teaching practices, and equitable assessment methods.
Professional activities include roles in the Faculty Learning Community on Assessment & Equity, the Teaching for Racial Equity initiative, and serving on Tufts' Social Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Standing Committee. She received the Distinguished Service Award from Tufts in 2013.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as 'Tech & Managerial Comm' and 'Bus Comm: Presentation Skills.' She has also contributed to archaeological research, previously working as a professional archaeologist and holding leadership roles in non-profit organizations focused on archaeological preservation.
