Amy Finlay-Jones is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School. Her research focuses on pediatric mental health, chronic disease management in children, and psychosocial interventions. She leads projects addressing perinatal mental health, exercise interventions for children with chronic conditions, and mental health profiling in school students.
Her key research interests include fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, behavioral therapies (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and systematic reviews of health interventions. She is affiliated with the UWA Medical School and collaborates on grants such as the Healthway Research Fellowship and the ‘Move to Improve’ initiative to promote exercise for children with chronic illnesses.
Recent work spans adolescent diabetes care, maternal-infant mental health programs, and the role of peer support in cancer care. Her studies often employ mixed methods, emphasizing practical applications to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
