Raewyn Mutch is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. She holds an external position as a Consultant Paediatrician in Refugee Health at Perth Children’s Hospital. Her academic qualifications include an MBChB from the University of Otago, FRACP in Paediatrics, a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from RANZCOG, and certifications in Global Mental Health and Refugee Trauma from Harvard.
Her research focuses on pediatric healthcare disparities, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, refugees, and populations affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Key interests include institutional justice in child welfare systems, planetary health, and participatory action research methodologies. She has contributed to over 67 peer-reviewed publications and led major grants addressing FASD in criminal justice contexts and Indigenous child wellbeing.
Notable projects include the NHMRC-funded 'Changing the paradigm to improve outcomes for Aboriginal children in out of home care' and collaborations on refugee health communication barriers. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education, health, and social equity.
