Amy Ellen Schwartz is a Professor at the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware. She also holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. Her research focuses on education, urban economics, and public policy, examining the interplay between schools, neighborhoods, and public services on children’s academic, social, and health outcomes. Current projects include IES-funded research on school choice and commuting impacts, NIH-funded studies on pandemic effects on NYC children, and investigations into public housing, absenteeism, and health-education linkages.
