Amy E Rothberg

Amy E. Rothberg, MD, DABOM is a Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes and Department of Nutritional Sciences. She serves as the Medical Director of REWIND, a virtual intensive behavioral therapy program for type 2 diabetes prevention, and leads NIH-funded research on preconception weight loss impacts.

Key projects include the OPTIWIN trial, examining meal replacement programs, and studies on Gut-muscle communication in rapid weight loss.

Dr. Rothberg’s NIH-funded studies explore preconception weight loss effects on fetal health and precision dosing in obesity. She contributes to global diabetes remission guidelines and health-related quality-of-life metrics for intensive weight loss programs.
