Amy D'Andrade is a Professor in the School of Social Work at San José State University (SJSU). She holds a PhD and Master's in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on child welfare systems, reunification processes, family dynamics, and the intersection of social work with criminal justice and poverty issues.
Her work examines barriers to parental reunification, the role of fathers in service delivery, and the impact of incarceration on foster care outcomes. She also explores policy implications for public assistance programs and service accessibility. Recent studies include analyses of dual-system involvement in family preservation and strategies to improve community engagement in end-of-life support.
