Amy Bradburn is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Midwifery and Health Department at Northumbria University. She is a registered Operating Department Practitioner and Surgical Care Practitioner with expertise in robotic-assisted surgery, simulations, and virtual reality. Clinically active, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students, designs innovative robotic-assisted surgery workshops, and collaborates with institutions like the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre and The Royal College of Surgeons.
Education includes a BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care (2011), MSc in Practice Development (2018), and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (2024).
Her research focuses on surgical technologies, robotic-assisted surgical training, and healthcare professional engagement with research and industry. Recent work examines perceptions of research among operating department practitioners and theatre nurses.
