Dr. Amy Barron is a Lecturer in Social and Cultural Geography at the University of Manchester, specializing in urban ageing, place-making, and creative methodologies. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BA from the University of Manchester. Her research examines urban inequalities through age, place, and sensory ethnography, emphasizing participatory approaches to challenge homogenizing narratives of ageing.
Research interests include:
- Age/ageing as non-linear socio-cultural phenomena
- Urban difference and inequality through embodied encounters
- Place-making through interwoven temporalities and memories
- Creative methodologies as transformative knowledge practices
