Amund Bjøranger Tørum is a Professor and Deputy Head at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law, University of Oslo. He specializes in the law of obligations, comparative law, construction law (including offshore and onshore projects), insurance law, petroleum law, and arbitration. He has over 20 years of experience in dispute resolution as both a litigator and arbitrator, handling cases in Norway, the Nordics, and internationally. His roles include Chair of the Standing Revision Committee for the Nordic Plan on Maritime Insurance and Member of the SCC Advisory Council. He holds a Cand. jur (2001) and Dr. juris (2006) from the University of Bergen, with certifications as a Chartered Arbitrator. His expertise spans arbitration law, civil procedure, and Nordic legal frameworks.
