Knut Høivik is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Bergen. His research focuses on energy law, corporate criminal liability, and commercial arbitration, particularly within the energy sector.
- Education: PhD in Corporate Criminal Liability (2010), University of Bergen
Research Interests: Knut specializes in legal frameworks for energy contracts, petroleum licensing, and liability for decommissioning oil & gas facilities. His work bridges corporate law, environmental regulation, and commercial disputes.
Publications: Recent contributions include analyses of corruption laws (2024), petroleum registers (2021), and corporate liability reforms (2021). His monograph Foretaksstraff (2012) remains a key reference.
Professional Roles: He serves as chief editor of the Norwegian Journal of Commercial Law and is a commercial arbitrator for energy disputes. Previously, he led legal teams at Equinor ASA and Schjødt law firm.
