Dr. Amit H. Varma is the Karl H. Kettelhut Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of Bowen Laboratory at Purdue University. His research develops innovative steel-concrete composite structures for nuclear facilities, buildings, and extreme loads.
Honors include multiple AISC awards for contributions to structural steel design codes. He teaches steel design, structural stability, and finite element analysis courses.
Research focuses on nuclear containment structures, blast/fire resistance, and high-strength composite systems.
