His research focuses on sustainable construction, energy efficiency, smart infrastructures, and decision support systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico (2018), an M.S. from the University of Tehran (2011), and a B.S. in Civil Engineering (2009). His work bridges engineering, data science, and policy to address challenges in building energy performance, occupant behavior modeling, and future workforce development in construction.
Key research areas include:
- Thermal comfort and energy-efficient ventilation strategies
- Virtual reality applications for restoration effects and human-robot collaboration
- Data-driven frameworks for energy consumption prediction
- Green building certifications and their socio-economic impacts
- Extraterrestrial construction and future workforce preparedness
His publications emphasize innovative methodologies such as agent-based modeling, machine learning, and life cycle assessment. Dr. Jafari leads the SPICE-Lab, exploring smart technologies and sustainable practices in construction management. His work frequently intersects with policy implications for low-income energy equity and climate resilience.
Dr. Jafari’s academic contributions span over 50 peer-reviewed articles, with a focus on translating research into actionable frameworks for industry and policymakers. He has collaborated on projects ranging from 3D-printed infrastructure to occupant-centric design, demonstrating a commitment to both technical innovation and societal impact.
