Amin Heidarpour Esfarjani is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Monash University. He serves as the Head of the Structural Engineering Group and Coordinator of Engineering for Extremes. His research focuses on the structural behavior of steel, concrete, and composite systems under extreme loads, including fire, blast, impact, and earthquake.
Recent publications highlight his work in rock mechanics (creep behavior under static-dynamic stress states), CFRP-reinforced steel structures, and corrosion effects on high-strength steel. His work integrates computational mechanics and innovative tubular construction methods, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Engineers Australia Excellence Award (Finalist) (2022)
- Gold Winner Accolade (2023)
- Innovation of the Year (2023)
- Institution of Structural Engineers Research Award (2021)
- Outstanding Associate Editor (2023)
Heidarpour Esfarjani leads national research projects on physical fire simulation, steel guardrail impact performance, and heavy-duty waler loading. His collaboration with industry partners like Coates Hire and BaoEngineering demonstrates practical applications of his research. He actively participates in international conferences, including the International Symposium on Industrialized Construction Technology 2025, and contributes to editorial boards and thesis examinations globally.
