Amil Dasgupta

Amil Dasgupta is Professor of Finance and Director of the Financial Markets Group at the London School of Economics. His research focuses on institutional investors, corporate governance mechanisms, and financial market stability. He holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Franklin and Marshall College.

His research examines how institutional investors influence corporate decision-making through activism and exit strategies, with particular emphasis on financial crises and market contagion. Recent work explores business accelerators' economic impacts and shareholder coordination mechanisms.

Dasgupta's publications demonstrate sustained focus on market microstructure innovations and governance evolution. His work connects theoretical frameworks with empirical market behaviors across different regulatory environments.
