Amie Shaw is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Management at Griffith University's Griffith Business School. Her roles include leadership in academic administration, teaching innovation, and research in Human Resource Management (HRM) and related fields. She holds a PhD from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Management Studies with Honors from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
Her research focuses on Human Resource Development (HRD), diversity and inclusion, career development, and employability. Notable projects include collaborations with organizations like Tetra Tech International, DFAT, and the Australian Men’s Sheds Association. She has led initiatives such as the HRM Fiji Study Tour and the New Colombo Plan-funded educational programs.
Teaching expertise spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses in HRM, employability, and diversity. She has received multiple teaching awards and led curriculum reforms to enhance graduate readiness. Her leadership includes roles as Director of Engagement, Acting Head of Department, and member of the Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing.
Key awards include a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and nominations for national teaching accolades. Her research has been published in journals such as Personnel Review and the International Journal of HRM, with a focus on employability, diversity, and workplace inclusion.
