Her clinical expertise focuses on breast imaging, particularly the diagnosis and management of breast malignancies. She provides care at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Avon Breast Center, with a special emphasis on underserved populations. Her research emphasizes improving national breast MRI reporting practices, optimizing imaging evaluations in symptomatic patients, and enhancing breast cancer diagnosis in low-resource settings through targeted ultrasound and biopsy techniques.
Dr. Lee collaborates internationally, including with Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania, to advance breast imaging education and address healthcare disparities. Her work spans AI-driven diagnostic tools, radiation safety in Africa, and qualitative studies on diagnostic delays in sub-Saharan Africa. She actively contributes to global health initiatives, aiming to improve healthcare access and imaging standards worldwide.
Her publications span over two decades, focusing on AI integration, imaging modalities for special populations (e.g., pregnant/lactating women), and technical innovations in breast MRI. She advocates for patient autonomy in imaging practices, as highlighted in her editorial responses and collaborative work with global partners.
