Amelia Olsson is a researcher at Linköping University's Center for Municipal Strategic Studies (CKS) within the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS). She holds a PhD in Business Administration with specialization in Organizational Theory and Entrepreneurship.
Her research examines how contemporary political trends affect local organization across business, public sector, and civil society domains. She focuses on three central areas: community-oriented entrepreneurship, local organizing for integration, and robustness and resilience as guiding principles for community organizing. Recent global crises including the pandemic and geopolitical tensions have shaped her work on food security preparedness and integration activities under restrictive migration policies.
Olsson's recent publications explore collaborative skills in academia and critical perspectives on entrepreneurship as a social ideal. Her 2024 study examines how collaboration is valued in academic hiring and qualification processes despite being central to universities' societal mission. She is also co-editor of the forthcoming “Handbook in Critical Entrepreneurship Studies,” which broadens the perspective beyond commercial dimensions of entrepreneurship.
As a business economist with doctorates from Stockholm University, she contributes to understanding how municipalities and civil society adapt to changing political and social conditions, particularly at the intersection of robustness requirements and cost-effectiveness considerations.
