Amelia Hawkins is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Brandeis University, affiliated with the Brandeis International Business School. Her research focuses on public finance and labor economics, examining how social insurance and transfer programs influence individual and firm decisions, particularly regarding labor market dynamics and health-related outcomes. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan (2019), where her dissertation received notable awards, and a B.A. from Williams College (2008). Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Associate at the Urban Institute.
