Amelia Hart is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Accounting & Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business. She joined the faculty in 2018 and co-coordinates the UT AIM Academy, a program for underrepresented high school students. She serves on the Teaching and Learning Innovation Task Force Advisory team and UT’s Faculty Senate, advocating for faculty wellbeing and DEI initiatives. Hart is the 2023 Vice President of the Ph.D. Project’s Accounting Faculty Alumni Association and co-chaired the 2021 and 2022 American Accounting Association conferences. She earned her Ph.D. from Anderson University, MBA from the University of Tennessee, and B.S. from Lee University.

Her research focuses on the going concern assumption in financial reporting and audit processes. She teaches courses including Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Accounting Information Systems. Hart is a licensed CPA and CGMA with 15+ years in academia and prior experience as a controller in private/public accounting. She co-authors bi-monthly articles in the Tennessee CPA Journal and frequently speaks on accounting and diversity in education.
