Amel Mili is a Lecturer in the Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages at Drexel University and co-founder of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) minor program. She holds a PhD and Master’s in Global Affairs from Rutgers University, Newark, a JD from the Law School of Tunis, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Tunis. Previously, she served as a Magistrate in Tunisia’s Administrative Tribunal (1991–2009) and Director of the Arabic Language and Culture Program at the Joseph H. Lauder Institute (2010–2017).
Her research focuses on the intersection of religion and law, gender politics during constitutional transitions, and language policies in education. She co-edited the book *Arab Women’s Activism and Socio-Political Transformation: Unfinished Gendered Revolutions* (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018) and has published widely in her fields. Mili’s work bridges legal frameworks, sociopolitical dynamics, and linguistic preservation in MENA regions.
Though no specific grants or advising roles are detailed, her academic contributions emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to governance, cultural identity, and educational policy.
