Ambrose Hayden is a Lecturer in the Department of Science at the Technological University of the Shannon (SETU), affiliated with the Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre. His research focuses on biopharmaceutical formulation, excipient effects, and advanced drug delivery systems. He holds two Master's degrees: one in improving drug solubility via cyclodextrin complexes (2006) and another in FTIR/ATR spectroscopy analysis of chlorinated compounds (1999). His work bridges analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical science, emphasizing protein stabilization and formulation optimization.
Key research areas include recombinant protein pharmacology, excipient interactions, and spray-drying technologies for biologics. Recent studies investigate arginine hydrochloride's role in protecting Olipudase alfa during manufacturing and apply multi-angle light scattering for biopharmaceutical evaluation. His 2021 review on drying technologies highlights innovations in genetic disorder therapies.
Publications span peer-reviewed journals like International Journal of Pharmaceutics and AAPS PharmSciTech, with notable citation impact and reader engagement on platforms like Mendeley. Collaborations involve multidisciplinary teams addressing challenges in formulation science and biopharmaceutical production.
