Amber Ward is an associate professor of art education at Florida State University, focusing on creative approaches of inquiry, material practices of craft, feminism, and sustainability. Her research emphasizes mending the world through educational practices that connect humanity and art.

Ward’s scholarship explores intersections of craft, feminist theory, and ecological/social justice in art education. She utilizes folk school pedagogies and qualitative research methods to address contemporary educational challenges.
Her recent publications examine menstrual education through art, collaborative pedagogical practices, and empowerment via artistic engagement. These works appear in journals such as Art Education, Journal of Social Theory in Art Education, and Visual Arts Research.
Ward serves as Interim Director of the Online Ed.D. Program and Associate Chair at FSU. She has held editorial roles for Art/Research International and Art Education, and actively participates in national/international academic conferences.
