Amber Nordholm is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in the Department of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies, affiliated with the Norwegian Centre for Energy Transition Strategies (NTRANS) and the Gemini Center Sustainability Transitions CaptureX. She holds a PhD in Science and Technology from NTRANS and a master's degree in Geographies of Sustainable Development from the University of Bergen.
Her research investigates sustainability transitions with particular focus on:
- Energy justice frameworks and democratic governance challenges
- Scaling mechanisms for low-carbon technologies (especially CCS)
- Multi-scalar analysis of energy transition pathways
- Intersections between policy, industry strategy, and technology diffusion
- Urban energy systems and mobility transitions
Her publication record demonstrates strong focus on decarbonization policy, carbon capture innovation systems, energy poverty alleviation through solar solutions, and methodological development for transition research. Recent work examines policy-industry alignment in industrial decarbonization and socio-technical dynamics of CCS development.
She actively disseminates research through international conferences including the International Sustainability Transitions Conference, Beyond Oil symposiums, and Global Conference on Economic Geography, with presentations on CCS market development, niche theory applications, and transnational transition governance.
