Amber Lickert

Amber Lickert is an Assistant Professor and Perfusion Clinical Education Coordinator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), affiliated with Nebraska Medicine. She holds positions in the College of Allied Health Professions and Department of Medical Sciences. Her career combines academic teaching with clinical practice in cardiovascular perfusion.

Education: Lickert earned a BS in Biology (with Chemistry minor) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (2011), a Post Undergraduate Certificate in Perfusion from the Cleveland Clinic School of Cardiovascular Perfusion (2014), and an MPS from UNMC (2021). She maintains certifications as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (ABCP, 2014-present) and Licensed Clinical Perfusionist (Nebraska, 2017-present).

Research interests focus on advancing clinical perfusion practices, medical education methodologies, and cardiovascular support systems. Her work bridges surgical techniques with patient care optimization in critical care settings.

Professional experience includes three years as a clinical perfusionist at the Cleveland Clinic followed by return to Omaha to integrate clinical practice with academic responsibilities. She currently oversees perfusion education programs and contributes to UNMC's clinical perfusion advancements.
