Amber Buck is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Alabama. She serves as Coordinator of the College Reading and English Studies (CRES) program. Her research focuses on digital rhetoric, writing technologies, and composition studies. She holds a Ph.D. in English and Writing Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, an M.A. in English and Composition from Ball State University, and a B.A. in English from Albion College.
Her work examines digital literacies, new media, and identity formation. Notable publications include Writing on the Social Network: Digital Literacy Practices in Social Media's First Decade (2023) and Netflix at the Nexus (2019). She is a Senior Editor for the Computers and Composition Digital Press.
Buck’s research spans ethical digital practices, transnational literacy narratives, and multimodal composition. She has collaborated on projects exploring literacy histories through the Digital Archive of Literacy Narratives (DALN), emphasizing translingualism and cultural identity.
