Amane Takaishi is a Lecturer in the Theatre Department at Boston College, where she teaches Ballet I-IV, Pointe, and History of Ballet. She holds dual academic credentials: an MA in Education (Dance Teaching) from the University of Bath (UK) and a BA with Honors in Professional Dance and Performance Studies from the University of Kent (UK). Her professional roles include choreographer for BC Theatre productions (e.g., The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe and Awakenings), and dancer with the City Ballet of Boston. She is a certified Pilates instructor (Balanced Body) and registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher.
Her career spans performances with companies like Eugene Ballet, Ballet Tucson, and A&A Ballet, featuring roles in works by choreographers such as Anthony Williams, Gianni Di Marco, and George Balanchine.
