Dr. Amanda Yonan is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Biology Department at the University of Nevada, Reno, specializing in innovative pedagogical approaches such as flipped classrooms and peer discussion groups. She joined the university in 2017 and previously held a faculty position at the University of Vermont for 12 years.

Her courses include BIOL 300 (Principles of Genetics), BIOL 310 (Human Genetics), BIOL 395 lab (Laboratory in Genetics and Cell Biology), BIOL 192 lab (Principles of Biological Investigation), and BIOL 190A (Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology). Outside academia, she enjoys outdoor activities like biking, camping, and kayaking with her family.
