Amanda N. Kallen

Dr. Amanda N. Kallen serves as Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Yale School of Medicine. She is a member of the Reproductive Scientist Development Program (RSDP) and leads the Kallen Lab, which focuses on reproductive science. Dr. Kallen is actively involved with numerous programs including the Center for RNA Science and Medicine, Fertility Preservation Program, In Vitro Fertilization Program, Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology, and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Program.

Dr. Kallen completed her medical education at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (MD, 2007), followed by residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital (2010), where she served as Administrative Chief Resident (2011). She then completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale School of Medicine (2014). During her fellowship, she was accepted into the NIH-funded Reproductive Scientist Development Program scholar program.

Dr. Kallen's research program investigates the regulation of gene expression in granulosa cells, with specific interests in Granulosa Cells, Gynecology, Infertility, MicroRNAs, Ovary, Reproductive Medicine, and RNA, Long Noncoding. Her work spans reproductive biology, molecular mechanisms of ovarian function, and clinical applications for fertility preservation. Dr. Kallen has published extensively in high-impact journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Fertility and Sterility, and Human Reproduction, with recent publications focusing on premature ovarian insufficiency, ovarian tissue cryopreservation, and cellular mechanisms of ovarian aging.

Dr. Kallen has received multiple awards including the Yale University "Resident of Excellence" award, the North American Menopause Society / Teva Medical Resident Excellence Award, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Resident Reporter award, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Resident Scholar award.

Dr. Kallen is highly active in professional organizations, currently serving on the Executive Board of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as the national Junior Fellow Congress Advisory Council Chair. She is a graduate of ACOG's Robert Cefalo Leadership Institute and a member of the ASRM Women's Council. Dr. Kallen also serves as an Interactive Associate for Fertility & Sterility and as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals.

As an educator, Dr. Kallen plays an active role in medical student and resident education and serves as a faculty mentor for the Yale medical student Ob/Gyn Interest Group. Her clinical interests include pediatric and adolescent gynecology and endocrinology, infertility, and premature ovarian insufficiency.
