Dr. Amanda Miller is the Head of Simulation and Skills Education at Edge Hill University's Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, and a Senior Learning and Teaching Fellow (Simulation). She holds a PhD from the University of Salford (2019) and has expertise in simulation-based education, pediatric nursing, and interprofessional learning. Previously, she worked as a Lecturer in Children and Young People’s Nursing at the University of Salford.
Her research focuses on integrating young people into simulation training, family-care communication, and pandemic-affected simulation practices. She has authored/co-authored multiple articles, a book, and book chapters, and presented at international conferences like AdvanceHE and the Association for Simulation in Healthcare Practice. Awards include the 2018 Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Group Teaching Award.
Her projects include validating a family-care rubric (2017–2018) and studying young people’s involvement in nursing simulations (2012–2015). She has supervised three PhD students and contributed to collaborative research with institutions like Minnesota State University and Keele University.
