Dr. Perak’s research focuses on defining and intervening at the origins of cardiometabolic function, with specific emphasis on maternal-fetal cardiometabolic health and behavioral interventions to improve cardiovascular health in high-risk adolescents. Her clinical and teaching interests lie in preventive cardiology.
Her recent studies highlight critical trends in cardiovascular health, including rising gestational diabetes rates, maternal heart health impacts on children, and long-term cardiovascular risk in young adults. These findings are frequently published in top-tier journals like JAMA and Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
