Amanda Kline is an Associate Professor and Department Chair in the Art Department at Otterbein University. Her interdisciplinary practice spans photography, video, installation, collage, and performance, exploring intersections of fantasy and reality through themes of identity, community, and humanity's relationship with nature.
- MFA in Visual Arts from The Ohio State University (2014)
- BA in Photography from Lycoming College (2008)
Her research focuses on:
- Artificial constructs in natural environments
- Gender roles in speculative human evolution
- Working-class narratives in rural America
- Community storytelling through participatory art
Kline co-founded The Page Collective, a collaborative group creating site-specific installations, and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She emphasizes critical thinking in her teaching, encouraging students to experiment with form and concept.

- South Side Stories (community-driven narrative collection)
- Artificial Natures (exploration of faux nature in modern life)
- Portrait of Strausstown (documentary of her hometown's transformation)
- Of Course My Flesh Reaches for the Earth (collaborative work with her mother)
As a third-generation proprietor of Kline's True Value Hardware Store (closed in 2023), she investigates labor dignity and familial legacy through photographic collages of her Pennsylvania hometown.
