Amanda Feldt is a PhD student at Linköping University’s Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences (HMV), specializing in early detection of skin damage from medical devices. She holds a dual role as a clinical nurse specialist in the Department of Acute Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Linköping University Hospital and a lecturer in nursing at LiU. Her part-time PhD research focuses on biomarkers for pressure-related tissue changes during non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy and optimizing nursing strategies to improve patient outcomes.
Education:
- Bachelor of Medical Science in Nursing Science (2012)
- Master of Medical Science in Nursing Science (2017)
Research Interests: Amanda’s work bridges clinical practice and academic research. She investigates biomarkers for early tissue inflammation, nursing interventions to mitigate pressure injuries during NIV therapy, and qualitative strategies to enhance patient adherence to respiratory therapies. Her research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, combining clinical insights with molecular biology techniques.
Publications: Her recent work includes studies on protein network analysis for skin inflammation (2024) and qualitative exploration of nurse-led strategies in CPAP therapy (2023). These publications highlight her focus on both clinical practice and translational research.
Teaching & Clinical Work: She regularly teaches in Linköping University’s professional nursing program, emphasizing evidence-based practice. Her clinical role at the hospital provides direct patient care in acute and geriatric settings, informing her research.
Affiliations: Member of the research network Forum Scientium. Collaborates with co-workers like Bijar Ghafouri (Professor), Sara Bergstrand (Senior Associate Professor), and Peter Worsley (Southampton University).
