Amanda Datnow is a Professor in the Department of Education Studies and Associate Dean of the Division of Social Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. Her research centers on educational reform and policy, with a focus on equity and the professional experiences of educators.
Her primary research interests include educational reform, educational policy, equity in education, teacher collaboration, data-driven instruction, and educational leadership. Over the past decade, she has led studies examining how data is used for instructional improvement, teacher collaboration, and leadership, as well as initiatives for transformative educational change. She maintains active research-practice partnerships with local school districts to bridge theory and practice.
Datnow has authored eight books, including "Professional Collaboration with Purpose: Teacher Learning for Equity and Excellence" (2019) and "Data Driven Leadership" (2014). She serves on multiple journal editorial boards and participates in committees dedicated to advancing equity in public education. Her work extends to collaborations with local, national, and international organizations to influence educational policy and practice.
