Amanda Branson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Reading. She serves as Director of Teaching and Learning for Undergraduate Psychology Programmes and convenes modules such as PY1APP (Applied and Professional Psychology), PY3CCP & PY4CCP (Communicating Current Psychology). Her research focuses on occupational psychology, emphasizing training and development, workplace motivation, and barriers to learning. She is also involved in pedagogical research through the Pedagogical Research and Educational Scholarship (PRaES) group.
Branson holds a PhD and BSc in Psychology from the University of Reading, an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Birkbeck College, and a Level A&B Certificate in Occupational Testing (BPS). She is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Her accolades include Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA) and University Teaching Fellow (UTF).
Her recent research explores mothers’ experiences of parenting children with sensory integration difficulties, communication dynamics in character strength discussions, and reflective practices for student employability. She has contributed to over a decade of studies on therapist competency, CBT outcomes, and autism-related visual processing challenges.
Branson’s academic leadership includes supervising PhD students and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Her work bridges theoretical research with practical applications in education and clinical settings, emphasizing evidence-based interventions and pedagogical innovation.
