Dr. Amanda Adams is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Flinders University, affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying. She currently works as the Assistant Director for User Research and Experience at Services Australia's myGov team, focusing on digital health and palliative care. Her academic roles include research fellowships in Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) and prior work on the ELDAC Home Care App project.
Adams holds a PhD from Flinders University (2022), exploring usability and accessibility evaluations in health information design. Her research integrates digital health literacy, interface design, and inclusive technology solutions for marginalized groups. She has managed digital health projects, co-designed apps, and led user experience research to improve healthcare accessibility.
Her research interests span usability evaluation methodologies, AI integration in health interfaces, and addressing the digital divide's impact on health outcomes. Notable achievements include the 'Best Presentation' award at Digital Health Week 2023 and a $5,000 Kickstarter Grant for palliative care research.
Adams collaborates with diverse stakeholders, including advocacy groups and IT service providers, to translate research into practical digital tools for aged and palliative care sectors. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and education.
